It's that time of year again, where family and friends come out into the night (and day) to celebrate one of America's most popular, and exciting holidays! Thankfully, our beloved borough is no exception when it comes to showing off our Halloween spirit!

Offering events that cater to individuals and families of all ages and sizes, there's always plenty of activities available to give us good reason to don our best spooky outfits and go prowling into the night. Make sure to check out some of these popular options this year!

Staten Island Zoo "Spooktacular"

One of the most frequented events, the event hosted by the borough's only zoo ends up selling out every single year! Due to take place on October 13th and 14th of this year, the zoo will host performances by the theater group at Susan Wagner High School, trick-or-treating, rides, and exciting games with great prizes! Make sure to bring the entire family, especially the young ones and those young at heart - to partake in one of the island's most beloved ghoulish events!

Halloween Harbor 2018

Take a thrilling ride over to Snug Harbor this October 27th to enjoy this monster of an event! This daylong event features trick-or-treating, face painting, pumpkin painting, costumer contests, spooky movies, arts and crafts, mad science, dancing, performances, and outdoor activities! The entire family will be able to experience the fun of all the museums, events, crafts, and more importantly have fun together while having a Spooktacular time!

Halloween Fun in Historic Richmondtown

Halloween will arrive early to one of the city's most historic villages, historic Richmond Town! On October 27th, make sure you and your kids arrive in costume for trick-or-treating, apple bobbing, playing in hay, and creating all sorts of frightening arts and crafts! You will be blown away by musical performances, a magic show, a costume parade, and delicious food trucks.

Ghosts of Conference House

Perhaps one of the more interesting forms of eerie entertainment, a healthy nighttime hike through an ancient burial ground and into the very historic (and utterly important) Conference House! Make sure to show up, preferably in costume, on October 28th for a 90-minute hike through perhaps the most haunted park in all of Staten Island, be sure to watch out for ghosts, wandering deer, and ghouls from the past!

Pumpkin Picking at Decker Farm

For those who like to celebrate the spirit of Halloween all month long, no October is complete without the proper pumpkin, especially one that you get to pick yourself! Every weekend this month, from 10 AM to 4 PM, visitors have the opportunity to harvest their own pumpkins for carving, decoration, and cooking! Great fun for the entire family; pick a pumpkin to bring home, partake in arts and crafts, face painting, a corn maze, feed the farm animals, experience a good ole' hay ride, and enjoy ice cream, s'mores, cider, and eat at delicious food trucks! Decker Farm is minutes away from Historic Richmondtown and is New York City's oldest family farm that still operates on eleven acres of beautiful farmland, bringing you back in time to Staten Island's rural beginnings!
